A new start

In 1946, the former Ligue du Coin de Terre et le Foyer was reestablished. By 1947, it had 12,736 families as members. The entire work program and some of the demands from the pre-war years were resumed. The specialized magazine and the calendar continued to be edited. Radio broadcasts were aired, and new sound film projectors and films on gardening and homeownership were once again made available to the sections. Since then, radio broadcasts have become an integral part of the League’s offerings.

On the 25th anniversary, a commemorative plaque was installed to remember the founding of the International Office in the Cercle building. In the following years, flag blessings, concerts, flower parades, merit medals, and founding celebrations helped the local groups grow closer to the central office. The first association flag was unveiled in 1967.

Together with the municipalities, wasteland was transformed into community gardens. Members of the sections borrowed gardening tools from each other, cooked together, and helped each other in a friendly, selfless exchange. Technical excursions to gardening facilities and fairs continue to be part of the regular annual program of the CTF League.

In 1963/64, land was purchased, and the construction of an administrative center began. A new administrative headquarter with a training center is being built in Beggen. The state, the municipality, and the National Lottery contributed to the creation of financial reserves for land acquisition. The city of Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette particularly assisted in establishing larger community gardens and „educational gardens.“

For the 40th anniversary of the founding of the League, the flower parade in Esch-sur-Alzette drew over 60,000 spectators. In 1971, as part of the International Year of Conservation, a flower and garden exhibition took place in the exhibition halls of Limpertsberg. The CTF League saw itself as a leisure organization.
