Awareness Raising
The CTF League actively participates as a partner in the campaigns „Méi Natur ronderem d’Haus“ and „En Dag an der Natur,“ often collaborating with all nature-focused associations and organizations. The new urban planning initiatives by municipalities include more green spaces in new neighborhoods, addressing a decades-old demand.
The League remains committed to its advocacy mission for the development of horticulture with the government. Between 1971 and 2011, the CTF League organized, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the National Tourism Office, the „Villes et villages fleuris“ competition. The beauty of the landscape is one of the core demands of the association.
Since 1991, the CTF League has participated in the „European Garden Day.“ The resulting event, „oppe Gardepaärtchen,“ has enjoyed great success ever since. Since 2020, the CTF League has also taken part in the „Rendez-vous aux jardins“ initiated by the Ministry of Culture.
With increasing urbanization and growing interest in natural products and the cultivation of extinct vegetable varieties, waiting lists to join community gardens have significantly increased. Since 2020, members of the League have had access to a specialized advisor. Lectures and tree pruning courses continue to be part of the standard offer. Technical and leisure trips strengthen the bonds among the association’s members. The „Neit Heem“ initiative promotes training and awareness of new forms of horticulture, urban agriculture, natural building materials, and autonomous energy supply. The „Gardener“ section on the website www.ctf.lu offers a variety of suggestions for gardening throughout the year.
